The last step in your perfect cup of coffee
all rests with you – the
brewer!
Grinding and Measuring
Coffee should be ground on a medium drip setting (for drip coffee).
The consistency of the grind should imitate granulated sugar.
Measure your coffee carefully! We recommend one level tablespoon
for every
six ounces, but you can make your coffee stronger or weaker to
tailor it to your liking. Note: Many coffee pots are pre-measured
cups on the side of the carafe, but they are in 4 oz increments.
We suggest using a measuring cup to measure our your water.
Water
A cup of coffee is comprised of 95% water. Thus, good water is
essential for a good cup of coffee! We recommend using bottled
or filtered water. Many coffee pots today contain charcoal
water filters that will produce a fine cup of coffee. Also, your
water
temperature should be between 195º and 200º during
your brew cycle and should take between 4 and 5 minutes to
fill the carafe.
Serving and Storage
Serve your coffee immediately! Do not let it sit on the burner
for more than 20 minutes or else it would burn. Use a thermal
container to keep coffee that you plan to drink in the next
2 hours. Finally,
store your coffee beans in an airtight container in a cool,
dark place. Do not store in the freezer or refrigerator!
The enemies
of roasted coffee are moisture, temperature change, odors,
and oxygen.
Congratulations! You have just brewed a perfect Bad Ass cup
of coffee! |
